Brisbane Days: Skies over Sydney

This was taken back in 2004 when I lived in Brisbane for a year. Taken on a flight from Brisbane to Sydney shortly before we started our descent.

Collioure, South West France

Please go to Collioure, because nothing I write here will do it justice. The Notre-Dame-des-Anges church anchors your line of site wherever you find yourself in this quaint corner of the Languedoc-Roussillon.

La Vie Est Belle

This little yellow number says it best. Taken in Rennes-Les-Bains, in the Languedoc-Roussillon region of France. It may have a bit of a hippie problem, but this is an amazing little town nestled between mountains, gorges and hot springs.

Hotel de L'Abeille, Orléans, France

Hotel de L'Abeille is a great hotel in Orleans, with balconies overlooking Rue de la Republique. We stayed in room 307. Small bathroom, but cheap and with a great view.
Our guidebook was somewhat disparaging of Orleans but it was a really pretty town. You can't beat a late afternoon beer, sitting down on the banks of the Loire river.

Collioure, Languedoc-Roussillon

These are possibly two of the best chairs to get in all of the South of France. Collioure is about as far West as you can go in France along the Mediterranean Sea. It's one of those old world coastal oases that makes you wonder why you would want to live anywhere else in the world.
More photos coming soon.

Montségur Fortress, Languedoc-Midi-Pyrenees

3000 feet up, is one of the final Cathar strongholds: the Montsegur fortress. Bit of a hike, but well worth it.

La Vialasse: the neighbours

Our holiday was in the middle of a small farming village, but it was more like staying in the middle of the farm itself.
